It is a neurodegenerative disease that affects 6 000 people in France, 8 000 in Germany, but remains, as Alzheimer and Parkinson, widely underestimated. Its name ? The Huntington’s chorea or Huntington’s disease. It was first described scientifically in 1872 by George Huntington, an American doctor. The gene mutation that causes the disease was discovered in 1993.
